What is so special about NotebookLM?

Why is curated climate content so important?

The internet is full of incorrect climate information and even intentional misinformation. We curate our Notebooks to make sure you are basing your exploration of a topic on good information, and not just one side of a topic or argument. And while its easy to assume that only the last six months of topical sources are relevant, we've curated more than 75,000 great climate sources going back more than 15 years. When those sources help you understand a topic, we'll include them in our Notebooks.

Why should I trust the Climatographers' curation?

The Climatographers have specialized in climate change for more than 35 years, including as IPCC members and founders of the first U.S. business climate risk advisory firm in 1991. They have been building knowledge management tools for more than a decade with the goal of "getting the right climate information to the right person at the right time" to influence decision-making and (hopefully) climate outcomes.

Do I have to download and learn a new software?

There is no software to download, and NotebookLM is exceedingly easy to use whether with the on-line Notebooks used for the Business Intelligence and Climate Library subscriptions, or downloadable Notebooks. That said, there are lots of "tips and tricks" to getting NotebookLM to deliver the actionable knowledge you are really looking for. We discuss those in our FREE Ebook and in Notebooks themselves.

Our goal is to make climate knowledge available in a way that has never been possible before, and there is a lot of great knowledge locked away in thousands of books and paywalled articles about critical climate topics. For copyright reasons, however, you won't find PDFs of entire books or paywalled journal articles in our Notebooks. In many cases we do provide "fair use" summaries, and we hope you'll decide to buy some great books you wouldn't have otherwise known about after reading a summary. NOTE: If you are a copyright holder and feel that we've inappropriately included your content in a Notebook, please let us know so we can correct it!

Will I find paywalled content in the Notebooks?

Why might the Notebooks in a collection change?

NotebookLM Notebooks work best when they are topic-specific. That's why we have Notebook Collections, as opposed to one massive "Climate Change Notebook." That said, creating hundreds of very granular Notebooks would be counter-productive. Our selection of Notebooks tries to balance topic granularity with user convenience, and our judgement of where and how to handle specific topics, and in what Notebook(s), may change over time.
